Cure Boils With Poultices

A lot of people suffer from boils frequently specially when the weather is hot and humid. This condition occurs due to bacterial infection. The staphylococci responsible for the boils can easily infect another part of the body too. They can also infect other people who come in close contact. It is quite difficult to get rid of a staphylococci infection.  Try to prevent it instead.  You must also take care to see that the boils don’t spread all over the body in case you happen to contract the infection.

A person with a good immunity system can fight against the infection and prevent boils. Instead of going for expensive antibiotics it is a better option to use herbal poultices. These poultices have a soothing effect on the skin and are effective for treating boils.

Check out these poultices for your boils.

The thick paste of the Goldenseal root makes an excellent poultice for boils. A thin fabric like muslin or linen is ideal for placing the paste on. The anti inflammatory and anti bacterial properties of the root can heal the infected skin quite rapidly.

A poultice of lavender and tea tree oil should cover the boil completely before the whole area is wrapped with a clean towel. Applying the poultice for an entire day will help to draw out the microbes and toxins from the boil. The skin surface should be cleaned with an antibacterial solution after the poultice is removed.

Chopped onions placed on a clean piece of cloth can be applied as a poultice on the infected skin surface. The onion should not come in direct contact with the boils as they may be too harsh for the delicate and sensitive skin.

However, if the boils continue to persist in spite of applying poultices, it is best to consult a physician and go for a bacterial culture.
