Causes of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
It can be very difficult for doctors to diagnose the problem of Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). CFS has psychological components even though it is a physical condition. Symptoms such as joint pain and head aches may be experienced by people who are suffering from CFS. Emotional problems such as loss of interest in favorite activities can also be noticed in the person suffering from CFS.Different symptoms may be noticed among people suffering from CFS. The symptoms can also be similar to other health conditions such as depression, mono or Lyme disease. Also even in the same individual the symptoms of CFS can change over a period of time. This can make the treatment of this condition all the more complicated because there is no single treatment or medicine that can cure all the symptoms. The exact cause for this illness also remains unknown.
Some persons may develop this condition because of the way certain conditions interact within the body and mind. For example, a person can develop this condition when he is experiencing tremendous stress and also has a virus. The other factors that can cause this condition include infections.
Infections such as Epstein-Barr virus (the virus that causes mono) or measles can make a person prone towards this condition.
People suffering from allergies and other problems of the immune system can also develop this condition. Emotional stress can also trigger this condition in some people. According to recent research some people who suffer from this condition may have a type of low blood pressure. This can also be one of the causes for this condition.
Almost people of all ethnicities and ages can be affected by this condition. More number of girls that boys are affected by this condition. CFS is quite rare in kids. Mostly people develop this condition when they are in their forties or fifties. CFS can also be contracted by different people in the same family sometimes.
This may be owing to a genetic factor. The disease is not contagious but must be given proper medical attention. Since the quality of life can be affected for a person suffering from this condition it is better not to ignore it and give necessary and prompt medical attention and treatment.
