Causes for Eczema

Eczema is an allergic disease which is also known as a topic eczema. It is related to conditions such as hay fever and asthma. The causes for eczema are many as given below.
Allergies such as mold, dust, changes in humidity or temperature, astringents, alcohol, perfumes and other chemical irritants, emotional stress, synthetic clothes and clothes made of wool and any infection can trigger eczema in a person.
Contact with substances such as soap, alcohol, perfume, chemical cleaners can irritate the skin and lead to such an allergy also. These allergens lead to eczema by making the skin sensible to changes in the environment. Allergens can be either metals such as nickel or chemicals like detergent powder or cleaners. Other products that can cause eczema are rubber and cosmetic products, poisons ivy and others. Young babies can be affected by what is known as Infantile eczema. Inflammatory scalp conditions and moisture can lead to this type of eczema.
Varicose or gravitational eczema are caused by varicose veins which affects the lower portion of the legs. Contact dermatitis can be of two types namely direct irritant contact dermatitis and hypersensitive contact dermatitis.
Exposure of skin to allergens can lead to allergic contact dermatitis. Direct exposure to detergents, acids or chemicals can lead to direct irritant contact dermatitis which can really irritate the skin and can become chronic. First time contact itself can lead to the latter while in the case of the former some amount of exposure would trigger the infection and cause this condition. Chemical reactions in the body can also lead to other types of eczema.
The other types of eczema are discoid eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis, varicose deramatitis and pompholyx eczema. The main symptoms noticeable when a person suffers from this condition are inflammation, skin redness, tenderness and pain, crusting, scaling, fissures etc. Thickening and drying of skin can be caused owing to damage of the upper layer of the skin and the epidermis which can cause lichenification.
There are a number of natural and herbal remedies for treating eczema. You must also follow a well-balanced diet with sufficient fresh fruits and vegetables to control this condition.
