Cause and symptoms of Piles
Piles or hemorrhoids is a very problematic and painful medical condition. Piles happens if for any reason there is a pressure on anal veins that results in their rapture. People suffering from piles experience swelling in the veins of rectum and feels inflammation and burning sensation around their anus.There is a general feeling of discomfort and face pain when passing stool. At times in severe cases the discomfort continues even after passing stool and often people suffering from piles have problems in sitting for a long time.
Generally people suffering from piles have itching sensation around the anal area. Often they feel a burning sensation during passing the stool. In severe cases there may be blood and mucus in the stool. In the case of bleeding piles often they may experience heavy bleeding occasionally like periods and can stain their undergarments. Also there may be some lump around the anal area.
There are various reasons that can cause plies. At times there are hereditary reason for this problem. Also people in old age may experience piles because of weakening of the vein walls. Also women experience piles during pregnancy because of hormonal changes.
However prolonged constipation is one of the major reason for piles in most of the adults. Generally people suffering from constipation put lot of pressure during passing stool that damages the veins and arteries in the area around anus and that results in the inflammation and swelling. At times frequent dysentry can also aggrevate the problem of piles.
Strenuous physical exercise and at times sitting in incorrect postures for long times can also trigger problem of piles. At times faulty dietary habits results in piles. Generally people who eat low fiber diet and do not include fresh vegetables, fruits or whole grains in their diet are most likely to suffer from this problem. Irregular meals can cause piles. Also eating too much of spicy food can cause problem of piles.
In most of the cases treatment of piles is possible by simple dietry majors. One must include lots of raw vegetables, fresh fruits and whole grains in their diet to increase the intake of fibre. Drinking lots of water also helps. However in the case of severe problem it is always advisable to consider a doctor to get rid of this problem.
