Can Eating Sugar Make You Age Faster
The most important chemical that contributes to your health and fitness is the insulin levels in your body. Insulin helps to regulate blood sugar and if its level is irregular the effects can be disastrous. The availability or extent of this chemical also determines the extent of aging related diseases that affect the body. Dietary changes can lead to adequate or normal secretion of insulin in the body.
Insulin mainly helps to store the excess nutrients in the body. Insulin has many vital functions to perform in your body and hence you must take efforts to maintain its proper balance. The key is to have only a small portion of insulin floating in your blood stream at any particular point of time.
This can be affected through the intake of excess sugar. Excess sugar can lead to stores of saturated fat in the body which can lead to several diseases. The highest quantity of blood sugar comes from high sugar food items such as desserts and soft drinks. This storage of excess saturated fat can also be encouraged by the consumption of complex-carbohydrates. Hence it is not advisable to eat a high complex-carbohydrate, low-saturated fat diet because this can lead to storage of excess amount of saturated fat storage in your body.
Insulin gets released when sugar enters the blood stream and this is stored as glycogen and fat. Excess of insulin content in the body can lead to several harmful effects. Excess insulin can raise the LDL and triglyceride levels. It can also lead to conditions such as early menarche, acne, myopia, poly cystic ovary syndrome, balding and other aging signs.
By eating sugar on a habitual basis, you can also attract other health problems such as asthma, mood swings, mental illness, diabetes, nervous disorders, hasten hypertension, and arthritis. This is because refined sugar is devoid of vitamins and minerals and for being metabolized, they draw upon the body’s micro-nutrient stores.
Obesity and higher cholesterol levels can result when the storehouses get depleted. As sugar is completely lacking in fiber, vitamins and minerals it can also play havoc on the endocrine system. Most major health organizations and researchers agree that sugar is the root cause for many types of degenerative diseases among human beings.
