Botox can Control Excessive Sweating
A lot of people suffer from excessive sweating. Although sweating is linked to the heat and humidity of the atmosphere, some people are more prone to sweating. Although, this problem is by no means serious, it can certainly be embarrassing for you. Your slick and smart dress and style can be completely ruined due to excessive sweating. Perspiration also has a peculiar odor of its own. You may carry a deodorant around but applying it too frequently may pose a few problems again.
How Botox works- As you know, Botox is commonly used for anti aging treatment. It helps us get rid of all those tell tale wrinkles and fine lines making us look younger by years. However, it is also used to control excessive sweating nowadays. The protein Botulinum toxin type A is commonly known as Botox. A small amount of Botox can be injected into the skin in order to combat excessive sweating. It acts by blocking the nerves supplying the endocrine glands. This does not eliminate the sweating completely but will certainly lessen it. The treatment is usually effective for a period of 12 weeks or so. You can go for another round of Botox injection once the effect wears off.
Procedure- Small needles are usually inserted into the skin of the sweat prone areas. Specially around the armpit. Since the skin here is thin, the needles may feel like a pin prick. The whole procedure is fairly painless and you would only have a stinging sensation at the most. Needles are distributed evenly around the area in order to minimize the time required for the treatment. A Botox injection takes around half an hour and you can easily go straight to your work after receiving Botox injections. The effect of the treatment may be felt after a week although it varies from person to person.
