Benefits of Ginger

A number of herbs are considered to weave magic specially when curing an ailment becomes mandatory. The ginger root is one such herb. Respiration- A wracking cough which shows no signs of abating can certainly be controlled by this magic herb. A mixture of honey and juice from the ginger root can provide relief from cough and cold. This remedy can be traced back to the middle ages when a warm mixture of the two beneficial herbal products served as an elixir for persistent cough. Various Oriental medicines prescribe the mixture to be taken at least 2 to 3 times daily in order to get rid of the respiratory infection and irritation leading to cough and cold.

Other Benefits- Alternative and  herbal treatments also recommend the ginger root for improving blood circulation and regulating the blood sugar level. Problems of hypertension and headaches are also believed to be relieved considerably by consuming ginger.

Menstrual cramps as well as toothaches are thought to be eased as well by intake of this beneficial herb. However, these effects have not been proved conclusively by the medicinal sciences and hence the ginger cannot serve as the only medicine for treating serious disorders.
