It is not advisable to be seated for long hours as the human body was not intended for that purpose. Today we see many people sitting for long hours in front of the computer or television. For doing the bridge exercise correctly, first of all you should lie down on your stomach with your legs straight and together. By placing the elbows on the floor, you have to try and lift your body. The toes must be pushed into the floor by flexing the feet. Your body must be tightened entirely. Then you must lift yourself up onto the elbows and the tips of the toes.
Hips must not be allowed to sag very low while performing this exercise. This can cause strain to the lower back. Also the hips must not be pushed up very far. This can transfer weight to the shoulder areas. You must also not hold your breath. You must take care to breathe out of the stomach as hard as you can while contracting the abdominal muscles.
