Baking Soda as a Beauty Product

Baking Soda has many uses. While it can be used for cooking as well as for cleaning and scouring purposes, the use of baking soda to beautify yourself is still largely unknown. It can be used in a number of ways to enhance your beauty and provide you with a meansĀ of taking care of your personal hygiene as well.

Teeth- Although, baking soda is incorporated in numerous toothpastes as an active teeth whitening agent, you can make your own product out of it. A paste of baking soda and water rubbed on your teeth will help to whiten them appreciably. Consequently, you can flash your perfectly white and sparkling pearlies without no embarrassment whatsoever.

Mouthwash- A pinch of the soda added to a glass of water can make an effective mouth wash. Swirling it around your mouth thoroughly before throwing it out can cleanse out your mouth cavity by getting rid of the harmful germs lurking within it.

Face Cleanser- A thick paste made up of three parts of baking soda and a part of water can be used to clean the face daily. Baking soda is gentle enough to be used as a daily cleanser.

Bath- Baking soda when added to warm bath water helps in softening the skin. You will have a much gentler and smoother looking skin if you use baking soda in your bath water regularly.

Razor Burns- Razor burns on your skin look ugly. They are uncomfortable as well. A paste made of baking soda and water can be applied to the affected area in order to soothe the chaffed skin and reduce infection.

Deodorant- You can try placing a pinch of baking soda under your arms after taking a shower. The soda will act as a deodarant and can be as effective as the commercially available deodorants.

Sunburns- A thick paste of baking soda will help to lessen the burning sensation of your skin if you suffer from sunburns.
