Applying a Fake Tan
We have all envied people sporting perfectly tanned bodies. Most of the celebrities seem to acquire and maintain their tanned complexion throughout the year. However, these high profile, glamorous people do not stay outdoors for long hours hoping that the sun’s rays would turn their pale white skin into a beautiful brown one. The tan comes straight out of a bottle and can be sprayed over the body as and when necessary.
Procedure- The FDA has approved of DHA or dihydroxyacetone solution as the fake tan that can be used all over the body. The solution works by reacting with the amino acids present in the skin and produces an appreciable darkening of the skin color. The entire process goes on for about twelve hours with the effect staying on for a maximum period of two weeks. You can also use a tanning bed which will expose your skin to artificial Ultraviolet rays instead of treating it with chemicals.
Purchase- Buying a fake tan can be an arduous task specially if you are going to use it for the first time. You will find numerous products on offer although it is best to go in for a reputed brand as it ensures quality. Buying a tan closer to your natural skin tone will definitely be a better option if you want to avoid making it obvious that you are wearing a fake tan.
Usage- Fake tans look best on healthy and moisturized skin. The tan will leave prominent streaks if you start rubbing it onto your dry and flakey skin. It is also a good idea to go in for an extensive exfoliating process before you apply the tan. Leaving on a moisturizer for a good thirty minutes will help you achieve that smooth and tanned look.
It is best to avoid the shower for 8-12 hours after applying the tan. It is essential to use a sun block when going outdoors even after you put on the fake tan. All in all a fake tan will certainly make you look attractive without exposing you to the harmful effects of the sun.
