With the advancing summers, more people look into how to lighten their menus by choosing the food items that can either be eaten cold or the ones which can be easily prepared. Summers is basically the time when you can take full advantage of the fruits which can boost your fiber and vitamin intake in a great way, satisfying your hunger at the same time. Here are 5 healthy fruits which can act as both snacks as well as a dessert for a well balanced meal.

Watermelon: Watermelon is one of the fruits which have more than 92% water content. It helps the body in staying hydrated during the summers. It also has a good amount of potassium, manganese, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin B6 and B1.

Pineapple: It has a lot of nutritional benefits which make it one of the best options to eat during the summers. One of the biggest nutrients offered in pineapple is manganese which is known to increase the use of ascorbic acid, thiamine and biotin in the body. It is also known to help the body in synthesizing fatty acids to promote a healthy thyroid gland.

Blackberries: Blackberries are very rich in fiber providing as much as 7.6 grams per cup. They also are high in potassium, Vitamin K, Vitamin C and most importantly they contain a nutrient known as lutein which helps in promoting healthy eyes.

Papaya: One great benefit of including papaya in your diet is the fact that they help prevent constipation with their high fiber content and good Vitamin C content. They can be eaten easily as a salad or with low fat vanilla frozen yoghurt. Papaya helps in preventing the oxidation of cholesterol which makes you less prone to heart diseases.

Guava: Guava contains omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids. The fruit contains Vitamin C and vitamin A in enormous amounts. It is also rich in dietary fiber which is enough to maintain a healthy digestive system.
